Education & Experience:
- The Foundation: An Undergraduate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or 7+ years of equivalent high-speed manufacturing mastery.
- The Expertise: 6+ years of experience in a high-speed packaging or processing environment. If you’ve worked with high-speed bottling, canning, or form-fill-seal, we want to talk to you.
- F&B Fluency: Deep familiarity with SQF, BRC, or FSMA requirements. You understand that in this industry, "clean" is a technical specification, not just an aesthetic.
- Technical Literacy: Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), PLC logic troubleshooting, and interpreting complex P&IDs.
- Leadership Grit: Proven experience managing skilled trades in a unionized environment
, with the emotional intelligence to navigate labor relations while driving performance.
The Maintenance Manager is the guardian of our production heartbeat. Beyond just fixing machines, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for the total lifecycle of our physical assets. You will drive a culture of "Zero Downtime" by bridging the gap between sophisticated electrical troubleshooting, high-speed mechanical reliability, and rigorous food safety compliance. Your goal is simple: maximize capacity, empower your team, and ensure every piece of equipment runs as safely and efficiently as the day it was installed.
KeyStrategic Pillars
- Operational Excellence: Champion a transition from reactive "break-fix" cycles to a data-driven Predictive Maintenance (PdM) model. You won't just respond to downtime; you’ll engineer ways to prevent it.
- Safety & Compliance Sanctuary: Maintain an audit-ready facility 365 days a year. You are the lead defender of SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental protocols.
- Capital & Engineering Leadership: Own the roadmap for the future. From identifying bottlenecks to managing multi-million dollar capital expenditure (
CAPEX
) projects, you will design the workflows that scale our business. - High-Performance Team
Coaching:
Lead, mentor, and upskill a diverse technical team within a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) environment, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Reliability Engineering: Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Five Why s to eliminate recurring equipment failures and optimize Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Throughput Optimization: Partner with Production to identify "hidden factory" capacity, eliminating bottlenecks and reducing scrap/waste through precision equipment calibration.
- Launch Excellence: Lead the technical integration of new product lines, ensuring "Vertical Start-ups" where new equipment hits target efficiency on Day 1.
- Resource Stewardship: Manage the maintenance budget with precision, balancing spare parts inventory (MRO) with the need for immediate agility.
- Sustainability & Utilities: Monitor and optimize plant utilities (CO2, steam, refrigeration, water) to reduce the facility's environmental footprint and energy spend.
