Position OverviewAbacus Engineering is seeking a Structural Professional Engineer with expertise in designing steel and concrete buildings to join our dynamic team. As a Structural PE, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the built environment of Waco and contributing to the continued success of our firm. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a meaningful impact on the community.
Responsibilities- Lead the structural design process for steel and concrete buildings from conceptualization to completion.
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate design efforts and resolve technical challenges.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, codes, and best practices to continuously enhance design methodologies and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on steel and concrete building design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP
2000, ETABS, or similar. - Strong understanding of relevant building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget constraints.
