Job DescriptionThe Division Chief Engineer – MMG (Director) will report to the VP, ISR Engineering and have comprehensive responsibility for engineering execution within ISR Modernization and Modification Group (MMG). This role will serve as a key advisor on the ISR Engineering Senior Leadership team and will serve as a technical advisor to the MMG management team and its customers. This position will also serve as the Waco engineering site leader and will be based in Waco, Texas.
EssentialFunctions
- Provide overall technical strategy and engineering execution leadership for the development of existing and new capabilities and solutions.
- Lead the development of the MMG technology roadmap, including investment analysis and resource allocation in partnership with members of MMG leadership and ISR engineering functional organizations.
- Facilitate staffing for Waco/MMG programs through close coordination with ISR functional engineering leadership.
- Plan and execute discretionary spending (IRAD, Capital and OH) in support of the Waco/MMG General Manager.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and issues in the industry, including current technologies, platforms, standards, and methodologies.
- Ensure efficient development execution and pursuit strategy to achieve MMG financial objectives.
- Act as spokesperson both internally and externally by communicating and promoting technology vision and solutions.
- Identify opportunities to leverage internal and external partnerships to accelerate the development process, improve on‑time delivery, and meet program demands.
- Share engineering best practices across ISR Engineering; monitor technical standards to ensure adherence.
- Directly responsible for managing the engineering execution within program budget to maximize utilization of resources and deliver solutions.
- Recruit, manage, and continuously develop talent through leadership and collaborative team building.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience to include a mix of technical senior management roles.
- Graduate Degree with 13 years of engineering experience to include a mix of technical senior management roles.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of engineering experience to include a mix of technical senior management roles.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, with exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and management personnel onsite and offsite.
- Demonstrated customer focus and teamwork orientation.
- Demonstrated senior leadership skills and ability to drive change.
- Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, developing and executing technology roadmaps and strategic plans, managing engineering budgets.
- Deep understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, platforms, standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience with resource allocation, investment analysis, and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with government contracting, program management, and compliance requirements.
- Understanding engineering development processes, including Agile, Dev Sec Ops , and model‑based systems engineering.
- Knowledgeable of proposal development process.
- Strong aeronautical engineering background.
- Flexibility in working with others at all levels of the organization that participates in the bid and proposal process and the execution of contracts.
