Project Engineer, Paper Making

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with expertise in paper making to join our dynamic team in Waco. This role is a unique opportunity for an individual passionate about engineering innovations to drive mechanical projects and improvements within our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage mechanical projects related to paper machines, power and recovery systems, and OCC plants.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement capital improvements aligned with business goals.
• Design and oversee the installation of electrical and mechanical systems within the plant.
• Analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements to develop feasible design solutions.
• Evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of new plant equipment designs or modifications.
• Provide technical guidance on manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering planning.
• Coordinate and direct the construction and enhancement of plant systems and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in collaboration with maintenance teams.
• Lead projects involving piping systems, structural steel, and civil design elements.
• Research and analyze design proposals to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend solutions to improve reliability and performance.
• Support safety, quality, environmental, and continuous improvement objectives within the plant.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in the paper making industry is essential; candidates with corrugated backgrounds will not be considered.
• Previous experience with startup projects is highly advantageous.
