Job DescriptionThe Systems Test Engineer (STE) will perform systems engineering test tasks associated with aircraft modernization, maintenance, and new aircraft systems integration and testing.
Essential Functions- The STE should be open to work any shift necessary to run effectively and efficiently.
- Develop and execute software quality methods and processes.
- Responsible for tests, methods and procedures to ensure continuous improvement to software quality assurance standards.
- Support the development effort required to integrate Avionics, Communications and Mission systems on multiple assigned platforms.
- Author Test Procedures and perform System Operation and Verification Tests (SOVT) for avionics, communications, cockpit systems, special mission systems, and navigation equipment.
- Maintain proficiency in common and advanced test equipment, including test-related software.
- Support future business pursuits, including avionics systems development and integration for military applications.
- Interface well with other disciplines and present technical information to customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders while upholding the highest ethical standards.
- Understand basic electrical theory and use of electronics test equipment (digital voltmeter, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, network analyzers) for testing RF systems and mixed signal products.
- Capable of reading and interpreting block diagrams, wire diagrams, and circuit schematics to isolate component malfunctions.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within the U.S. and possibly OCONUS.
- Work any shift, including weekends and overtime, when required to meet business objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior aircraft systems test engineering experience, or a minimum of 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
- A&P and/or FCC license.
- Effective communicator.
- Strong team member.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
