Overview
We are seeking a Civil Project Engineer (PE) or experienced Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join a growing civil engineering team in Waco, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take on increased project responsibility while working on a diverse mix of civil infrastructure projects serving Waco, surrounding rural communities, and smaller Central Texas municipalities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in civil design, plan development, and project coordination with a strong desire to grow into a project leadership role. Licensed Professional Engineers will have the opportunity to manage projects and mentor junior staff, while experienced EITs will receive the support and mentorship needed to continue progressing toward licensure.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare civil engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Design civil infrastructure projects including roadways, drainage systems, utilities, grading, and site improvements
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design, drafting, and plan production
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project development
- Assist with project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
- Review plans and construction documents for quality and compliance with applicable standards
- Participate in field visits, project meetings, and construction coordination as needed
- For PE candidates, provide technical oversight and mentor EITs and junior engineering staff
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering
- Texas PE license preferred; experienced EITs actively pursuing PE licensure are encouraged to apply
- 3+ years of civil engineering experience preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with civil infrastructure design including roadway, drainage, utilities, grading, and municipal projects
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
