Job Summary Waco Family Medicine (WFM), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), offers a paid Summer Internship Program for students and recent graduates interested in healthcare, nonprofit, and community-focused work. Interns contribute to meaningful projects, receive mentorship, and learn how a mission-driven organization serves underserved communities.
Internship dates:
June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Work format:
Varies by department and role Applicants apply once and may indicate interest in one or more internship tracks. Final assignments and projects vary based on interests, skills, and department needs.
Essential Functions Interns may be assigned to one or more tracks:
Finance Support a defined financial planning and analysis (FP&A) project under Finance leadership. Note:
Assignments, mentors, and projects may vary based on department needs.
Qualifications Required Currently enrolled in an accredited program or a recent graduate.
Strong communication, teamwork, professionalism, and reliability.
Willingness to learn and follow confidentiality expectations.
Preferred (varies by track; not required)
Finance:
Excel or interest in financial analysis/reporting.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual and auditory accuracy
Shift length - 8 hours
Indoor setting
Continuous use of computer and calculator
Long periods of sitting
Frequent use of telephone
Continuous repetitive grasping and manipulation of both hands
Continuous conversational communication
Occasional reaching, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting and climbing
Occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs.
Occasionally working in confined, noisy, dusty areas
Frequent use of personal car Understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions
Memorize and retain instructions
Read and interpret detailed specifications
