Senior Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our client's team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow long term.

• Preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries while maintaining assigned general ledger accounts
• Completing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and analyses
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes including variance analysis and financial reporting schedules
• Supporting preparation of regulatory, management, and board related reports and ensuring they are completed accurately and on time
• Analyzing financial results, identifying unusual activity or significant variances, and communicating findings to leadership
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen internal controls
• Supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests
  
  Researching issues, discrepancies, and workflows within the core system
• Preparing ad hoc financial analyses and decision support materials for management
• Contributing to special projects, system enhancements, and cross training as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
• 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience including general ledger, financial analysis, and month-end close
• Banking or financial institution experience preferred
• Experience with budgeting and reporting software, Cognos, Microsoft queries, and core banking systems
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement analysis
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and collaborate across departments
