The Radiology Lead assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the operations of Radiology for the facility. Responsibilities include monitoring medical/operational reports and practices to ensure compliance with all regulatory laws, company goals and objectives; assuring staff understand and comply with regulatory laws and radiology best practices/quality. The Radiology Lead will ensure adequate resource management by overseeing sound procurement activities, staffing levels and other daily operations.
The employee exercises independent judgment and supervisory knowledge in assuring the highest level of care is administered to all patients. In collaboration with the Imaging Director, the Lead is responsible for equipment management, staff selection/development and performance. In conjunction with the organization’s Administration, participates in communication with medical professionals, consultants, and organizations to support and coordinate patient care, related management functions, and to represent the interests of the organization.
Education Qualifications and Credentials
- Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
- Current licenses by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Two years’ experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist is required.
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Possess thorough knowledge of radiologic procedures used in patient treatments, and of safety and proper usage of all mechanical and electrical equipment used in Radiology.
- Maintain knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations (including HIPAA, COBRA/EMTALA, Texas FEC Rules/Regulations, TAC 25 289.205 Texas Regulation for Control of Radiation, etc.) that apply to Freestanding Emergency Centers and/or Radiology.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills; ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- Self‑motivated, able to problem‑solve and follow through to achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrates effective communication with all staff at various levels in the organization.
- Ability to use basic Microsoft Office applications and applicable computer‑based business programs.
- Some minimal travel may be required between sites of operations.
