Location(s):
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Waco, Texas.

Schedule:

FT Day Position (12 hour shifts) Department(s):
Adults and NICU- experience in NICU is a plus but, not required.

Job Summary The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with a team in a culture of learning and advancement, using scientific values, therapies, and techniques to improve patient care and outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Performs and directs respiratory care services like oxygen and aerosol therapy.
  • Works with the attending physician and care team.
  • Administers care with quality and excellence, following procedures.
  • Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergencies.
  • Adheres to established policies, including infection control, isolation, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media.
  • Performs willingly and professionally with peers and patients to maintain the very best work environment and outcomes.
  • Embraces the autonomy to grow and enhance skills such that professional and technical requirements are accomplished.
  • Focuses on continuous quality improvement in all aspects of clinical care.
  • Identifies, executes, and shares opportunities to improve patient care.

Key Success Factors:

  • General knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
  • Able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • General computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.

Qualifications:

  • Education
    - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • Experience
    - Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • Certification/License/Registration
    - Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer. Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP):
    Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT):
    Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board Respiratory Care.
