Role:
The Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by preparing and organizing patient tissue samples, assisting with data entry, and maintaining lab records. They ensure compliance with safety protocols, handle biohazard materials appropriately, and monitor supplies and expiration dates.
Responsibilities:Receiving and labeling specimens, assisting with electronic medical record entry, maintaining slide and block storage, filtering formalin, and disposing of biohazard waste. They also monitor supply usage and perform general lab maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills:High school diploma or GED required; prior pathology lab experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and E-Systems is necessary. Attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and reliable attendance are essential.
Work Environment:Exposure to biohazards in a clinical setting, requiring physical activity such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
