About the Role

As an HR Generalist at The Blackhawk Group, you will be responsible for overseeing key HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and talent development for assigned client groups. This role requires a proactive approach to resolving employee issues, ensuring policy adherence, and driving organizational initiatives. You will collaborate closely with managers and employees to support business goals and cultivate a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: Own full-cycle recruiting for assigned business units—clarifying staffing needs, shaping job requirements, selecting top talent, and delivering a smooth, high-quality onboarding experience.
  • Employee Relations & Workplace Support: Serve as a trusted partner to employees and managers by resolving workplace issues, leading investigations, guiding corrective action, and ensuring consistent, fair application of policies.
  • Policy, Compliance & HR Operations: Apply HR policies and employment regulations with accuracy and consistency; support leaders in driving effective hiring, training, recognition, and employee development practices.
  • Change Leadership & Process Improvement: Challenge the status quo by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen team effectiveness, and champion new initiatives within assigned client groups.
  • Performance &

    Coaching:

    Support managers through the performance cycle—setting expectations, identifying gaps, coaching on performance improvement, and ensuring competencies are clearly understood and applied.
  • Insights & Reporting: Develop and deliver HR reporting and analytics that inform decisions, highlight trends, and support operational goals.
  • HR Support & Offboarding: Conduct exit interviews, capture insights for retention strategies, and manage unemployment-related responses.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Talent & Leadership Development: Partner with leaders on staffing strategies, development planning, and succession planning to build long‑term bench strength.
  • Organizational Effectiveness: Assess organizational needs and recommend improvements that increase capability, alignment, and performance.
  • Compensation & Job Design: Support compensation activities, including market benchmarking, job evaluations, and administration of compensation processes.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for majors in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business Administration.
  • HR Certification (HRCI or SHRM) is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of HR administration experience in a high‑growth, changing environment. Proven track record of successfully implementing HR programs and initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Professional demeanor and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the aviation industry is desired but not required.
