This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our data assets. Candidates work closely with cross-functional teams to identify data quality issues, implement solutions, and support data governance initiatives with minimal oversight.
MAJOR RESPONSIBIILITIES AND AUTHORITYData Quality Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct regular data profiling and analysis to assess data quality across various systems.
Develop and implement data quality metrics and dashboards to monitor ongoing data integrity.
Identify, document, and communicate data quality issues to relevant stakeholders.
Data Cleansing and Validation:
Design and execute data cleansing processes to rectify inaccuracies and inconsistencies.
Establish and enforce data validation rules to ensure data meets predefined standards.
Collaborate with IT and business units to implement data quality improvements.
Root Cause Analysis and Issue Resolution:
Investigate data anomalies and perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues.
Develop and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence of data quality problems.
Work with data owners to implement corrective actions and process enhancements.
Data Governance and Documentation:
Support data governance initiatives by maintaining data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
Document data quality processes, standards, and best practices.
Participate in the development and enforcement of data governance policies.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONSAt least one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, and foundational experience in data quality analysis or a similar role.
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, and proven experience in data quality analysis or a similar role.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
Experience with data quality tools (e.g., Informatica Data Quality, Talend, Data Ladder).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Analytical and Communication
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills to convey data quality issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with data governance frameworks and practices.
Knowledge of data management principles and data lifecycle management.
Certifications in data quality or data management (e.g., IQCP, CDMP) are advantageous.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSUse of PC, telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day.
Extended periods of sitting and concentration.
Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONSOccasional long, irregular hours.
Provide after-hours problem resolution when required.
Occasional travel by auto or other public transportation.
Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company.
