The Data Business Analyst Senior is a seasoned analyst within the Data Office who brings strong hands‑on experience with Power BI while thriving in a business‑facing role. This individual translates business needs into data solutions and reporting requirements, with a focus on usability, impact, and alignment with enterprise data strategy. The ideal candidate enjoys the craft of analysis—solving problems, designing intuitive reporting experiences, and working closely with stakeholders—without shifting fully into a developer role.

This role is best suited for someone who understands the data layer, can write and validate DAX/Power Query, and is energized by facilitating business conversations and refining solutions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document requirements for data and reporting solutions.

Lead the creation of detailed functional specifications and user stories for Power BI reports and dashboards.

Serve as a bridge between business needs and technical delivery teams, ensuring alignment on scope, intent, and value.

Build or prototype Power BI reports and semantic models to validate requirements and facilitate stakeholder feedback.

Translate complex business processes into structured data needs and visual insights.

Conduct gap analysis, data profiling, and validation activities to support accurate reporting outcomes.

Support testing, UAT, and release validation activities related to new or updated data assets.

Mentor junior analysts in BI concepts, storytelling through data, and stakeholder engagement best practices.

Maintain and enhance documentation related to data definitions, report logic, and end-user guidance.

Contribute to the standardization of reporting and analysis processes across the Data Office.

Other duties as assigned.

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from the Certified Fleet Operator Status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
