Job Title: Technician – Technology

Primary Purpose: Deliver rapid and effective technology field services through maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, peripherals, and network devices to all campuses and administrative departments within the district. Responsible for phone support, technology problems evaluation, and distribution of technology-related work orders.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: Two years of college or technical school/military training in computer maintenance and repair or equivalent experience. Valid Texas driver's license
Special Knowledge/Skills: Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications Knowledge of various operating systems (UNIX, DOS, Windows, Macintosh) Knowledge of a wide variety of software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Email applications and educational applications Ability to detect and resolve technical or technology-related problems Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong customer service perspective Strong writing skills Strong ability to multitask Knowledge of basic SQL scripting Familiarity with public school operations Ability to present information to a group of employees (>30)
Experience: Two years of work experience in technical support position or Experience in repair and maintenance of computers and peripherals
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Equipment Used: District Assigned computer, phone, peripheral devices, network management tools, computer repair tools, testing equipment, light duty vehicles, and personal vehicle.
Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Prolonged use of computer and telephone;
Maintain emotional control under stress, hectic pace, and work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions; occasional strenuous walking, standing, bending, and climbing; moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; and operation of a motor vehicle. Working in office environment and with diverse community groups. Frequent work in industrial and classroom environment. Occasional work in utility closets, cable chases, and above suspended ceilings.
