Job Description
WSP is initiating a search for a Project Supply Chain Coordinator for our Waco, TX location. This is a field role which primarily operates in construction environments supporting the execution of construction activities.
This OpportunityThe purpose of the Project Supply Chain Coordinator is to directly supervise and manage material storage site(s) activity on a WSP project where we are providing SCM and/or Material Management services. The role will be accountable for the operations at one (1) or multiple sites ensuring the 3C’s (Care, Custody, and Control) are maintained over safeguarded material. Additionally, the role will be responsible for conducting project material-related analysis to provide insights and support the needs of the project.
Employees in this role will primarily work on location at the project construction sites (Waco, TX). Yard work hours are from 7 am to 4 pm; however, responsibilities may require arrival prior to opening the yard and staying after closing the yard.
- Supply Chain Management – Perform supply chain and logistics functions, including material/services procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution; coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers.
- Inventory Control – Ensure that inventories are secure, properly identified and readily accessible to authorized personnel; maintain controls over various types of inventories (raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods); conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile results with inventory records; ensure correct quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments; analyze inventory levels and coordinate with production and sales requirements; coordinate inbound and outbound logistical operations including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products.
- Transportation Management – Analyze transportation and distribution systems and procedures to ensure efficient and economical delivery.
- Analytics – Conduct detailed analyses of inventory in comparison to project needs (site, schedule).
- Location – Onsite work (office, field) and travel.
- Attributes – Entrepreneurial spirit, self‑starter, curious mind, highly collaborative, problem solver, comfortable with changing environments.
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant post‑education experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in an inventory controls role, managing and fostering the development of assigned personnel.
- 3–5 years of quantifiable experience in supply chain management practices.
- Proficiency in the Office 365 suite, with an emphasis on Excel; advanced Excel knowledge is beneficial.
- Experience collaborating on projects as a value‑added member.
- Physical requirements:
able to stand for multiple hours on a rocked surface; walk over 10,000 steps a day on a rocked surface; lift, carry, or manipulate materials up to 50 lb; spot equipment on the yard during operations, travel to/from storage locations, and load trucks with equipment.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with Maximo systems.
