OverviewASM Global, a leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager at the Waco Convention Center. The Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for ensuring facility equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes.
Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of facility compliance with codes, regulations and best practices.
- Hands‑on knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, fire suppression, kitchen and energy management systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, major and minor repairs on HVAC and related equipment.
- Maintain food service equipment, including ovens, grills, dishwashers, deep fryers and refrigeration units.
- Respond to inquiries, provide information and resolve complaints efficiently.
- Oversee work order processing using ASM's Altum system from entry to completion.
- Ensure safety plans are in place, staff are trained and safety policies are followed.
- Attend weekly operations, staff and safety meetings and take notes.
- Operate forklifts, power sweepers, scrubs, boom lifts, electric carts and other hand/power tools.
- Recommend requisition of supplies and materials to the Director of Operations.
- Complete daily reports at end of shift.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Operations.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC units and repair techniques for food service equipment.
- Knowledge of building automation systems.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills; interact with all levels of staff.
- Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Operate a motor vehicle.
- Operate forklift, boom lift, electric carts and other equipment.
- Work irregular/extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general operation and maintenance of a large facility.
- Work both indoors and outdoors; walk or stand up to 8–14 hours daily.
- Frequently lift in excess of 50 pounds.
- Exposed to inclement weather, noise, fumes and other adverse conditions.
