Operations is at the heart of Amazon’s business. The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team partners to maintain robotics and material handling equipment (MHE) to ensure fast, accurate service. As an Area Maintenance Manager, you will lead a maintenance team to ensure safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. You will develop maintenance strategies, solve complex challenges, and create a culture that empowers technicians to perform at their best.
You will blend strategic planning, hands-on problem-solving, and team leadership while managing preventative maintenance programs, coordinating with operations, and responding to emergencies with quick, decisive action.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of service technicians and automation engineers, fostering professional growth and performance
- Ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and procedures during maintenance activities across the site
- Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs that enhance operational efficiency
- Manage and coordinate external contractors while maintaining high-quality service standards
- Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and partner with applicable teams to address system performance issues and provide analysis across operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time experience
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- 2+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience
- 2+ years of CMMS experience
- 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Master's degree or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) integrators
- Experience maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems
- Experience in project management
- Experience with statistical analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
