The Dr Pepper Museum is seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-focused Director of Operations to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this role is responsible for overseeing the Museum's customer-facing operations, including admissions, retail, e-commerce, food service, special events, and parking operations.
With more than 300,000 visitors annually
, the Director of Operations plays a critical role in creating exceptional guest experiences while driving operational excellence, revenue growth, and team development across multiple departments.

What You'll Do Lead Visitor Experience Excellence- Champion a world-class visitor experience across all customer touchpoints.
- Partner with the Senior Operations Manager to enhance hospitality, customer service, and employee development initiatives.
- Lead and mentor department managers to deliver outstanding service and operational success.
- Oversee admission operations and the annual Challenge Grant Program to achieve customer service and fundraising goals.
- Manage visitor and staff parking operations while supporting annual revenue objectives.
- Coordinate and support major Museum events, including:
- Birthday Bash
- A Dr Pepper Christmas
- Other special events and community programs
- Provide strategic leadership for the Museum Store, webstore, Soda Fountain, and off-site retail operations.
- Drive growth in retail and e-commerce revenue through innovative merchandising and customer-focused initiatives.
- Ensure excellence in hospitality, cleanliness, operational consistency, and product quality.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct quarterly and annual inventories in compliance with audit requirements.
- Maintain compliance with all Keurig Dr Pepper retail licensing agreements.
- Identify hiring needs, recruit top talent, and foster a positive and productive team culture.
- Collaborate with Marketing to gather and analyze visitor data and customer insights.
- Use analytics to support attendance growth and improved customer engagement.
- Ensure timely and professional responses to customer feedback and inquiries.
- Coordinate annual reporting and performance metrics with internal teams.
- Prepare quarterly operational reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Oversee point-of-sale systems and related technology.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and department managers across the organization.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Retail, Business Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of retail management experience
. - Minimum of 7 years of employee leadership and management experience
. - A dditional years of experience and demonstrated success in retail and employee management will be considered in lieu of education.
- P roven success leading teams in a high-volume retail, hospitality, tourism, attraction, museum, or customer-service environment.
- Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make presentations and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems;
Square experience is a plus. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced degree in Hospitality, Management, Business, or a related field.
- Hospitality or management certifications.
- Experience with online ticketing systems.
- Experience working in museums, attractions, tourism, or destination-based organizations.
