Job Description
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks highly qualified candidates for the Content Development Area Manager position within the Access and Eligibility Services (AES), Office of Learning and Professional Development (OLPD). AES is driven by its mission to connect Texans to quality services by helping individuals and families access food, medical care, cash assistance, and other social services. The Content Development Area Manager performs advanced educational program development, implementation, and evaluation activities for AES training programs for new and tenured staff, supervisors, and managers. Work involves planning, coordinating, organizing, and assessing training programs, with emphasis on Basic Skills Training (BST), continuing skills training, state office administrative program training, and special projects. The position requires a thorough understanding of AES philosophies, goals, and objectives.
Experience in social services or eligibility determination organizations is preferred. The position requires strong knowledge of leadership principles and practices; resource allocation, the ability to analyze training needs; and experience coordinating training development, evaluating training programs, and promoting current training services, methods, and techniques. The position manages technical content development tools, environments, and software. The position establishes goals and objectives, develops and approves schedules and standards, interacts routinely with staff at all levels, manages staff, directs evaluation activities, and represents the program area at meetings, conferences, seminars, panels, and project teams as needed.
Work is performed under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
