Role OverviewThe Plant Lubrication Technician will be responsible for maintaining and lubricating all components of the plant. Identifying mechanical failures and performing preventative maintenance applications to maximize production and quality.
Typical schedule is Monday - Saturday, with Sunday as needed. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan and coordinate scheduled lubrication and plant servicing within the time frame set.
- Responsible for a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures for themselves and co-workers by using the appropriate tools and PPE for the task.
- To keep equipment serviced and lubricated properly to maximize production and quality.
- Inspect plants for condition, operation, service intervals and fluid levels.
- Greases, oils, and lubricate components during preventative maintenance checks and services.
- Operate lifting devices and work as a team as needed.
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance on plants.
- Communicate and work closely with supervisors and plant operations to ensure all plants get the proper service and lubrication as needed.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Must have clean driving record and maintain valid driver’s license.
- Able to come in on emergency breakdowns with short notice and work extended hours.
- Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).
- Ability to work outside in all seasons.
- Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.
- Prior lube technician and equipment maintenance a must.
- Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance services.
- Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting, and some welding ability.
- Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
- Fabrication and Plumbing skills/knowledge.
- Equipment operation skills helpful.
- General knowledge of maintenance, lubrication, and mechanical theory.
- Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
- May lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.
- Hand eye coordination.
- Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.
- Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
- Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting.
- Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time.
