Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Location: Waco, TX

Reports To: Production Manager/Shift Supervisor

Shifts: 1st Shift (6 AM to 2 PM), 2nd Shift (2 PM to 10 PM)

Job Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to perform various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, and turning on metal or plastic work pieces. This role ensures the efficient and precise operation of CNC machinery and adherence to all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up CNC machines according to specifications, including loading programs, adjusting settings, and preparing tools.
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints, sketches, and CAD designs to determine machining sequences and dimensions.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures on CNC machines.
  • Perform initial test runs to ensure machine setup is accurate.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process.
  • Document and report any mechanical or technical problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding machine operation, setup, and maintenance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to management.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machine operator is highly preferred.
