Essential Job Functions:
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts)
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
  • Initiate and record actions to support the Food Safety Management System
  • Assist in scheduling product staging and batching.
  • Assist in training others as needed.
  • Ensure that all ingredients and batches conform to specifications before use.
  • Assist in troubleshooting department issues.
  • Maintain inventory control system.
  • Verify and enter all ingredient receipts into SAP.
  • Responsible for inventorying ingredients, including periodic cycle counts, end-of-run counts, and comprehensive end-of-year counts.
  • Report ingredient shortages to Department Managers prior to scheduled production times.
  • Acquire and maintain forklift certification.
  • Prepares and distributes all ingredients for production orders based on scheduled orders with exceptions of bulk waters, sugars, alcohols, etc.
  • Ensures FIFO procedures are followed for all ingredients and throughout the department.
  • Maintains and controls refrigerated ingredient integrity.
  • Create purchase orders for all ingredients stored at the outside warehouse.
  • Assist other departments to ensure product integrity throughout production.
  • Collaborate with Quality any issues related to ingredients.
  • Ensure sanitation of all equipment before use.
  • Assist in continuously improving processes.
Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of and compliance with personal safety/food safety regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to Detail:
    High level of accuracy and attention to detail in following recipes and formulas.
  • Adaptability:
    Flexible to adapt to changes in production processes and ingredient specifications.
  • Time Management:
    Skills in prioritizing tasks and management multiple responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in a mixing/processing environment preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Schedule:

    Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work Environment:
    Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold (laboratory and staging area is temperature controlled). The environment is structured and supervised. Specific areas may be temperature controlled.
