POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Waco, TX facility manufactures aluminum ends/lids for beverage cans commonly used for soft drinks, beers, energy drinks, teas and non‑carbonated beverages. Using state‑of‑the‑art end‑making technology, this high‑speed environment provides rewarding manufacturing opportunities.
We are seeking an accomplished, results‑oriented Plant Manager to assume full operational and financial responsibility for our high‑volume Aluminum End manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager is the site leader, accountable for driving world‑class performance across all functional areas, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, and Supply Chain. This role requires strategic leadership to maximize profitability, ensure adherence to the highest safety and quality standards (including food safety), and foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
EssentialJob Functions P&L AND STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
- Oversee and manage the entire facility's financial performance, including developing and controlling the annual operating budget (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans.
- Develop and execute the long‑term strategic plan for the plant, focusing on capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Report key financial and operational metrics to executive leadership, providing actionable insights into variances and forecasts.
- Drive aggressive targets for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Overall Line Effectiveness (OLE) across the Shell Press, Lining, and Conversion departments.
- Champion and embed continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) to eliminate waste, improve yields, and optimize production workflows.
- Ensure effective inventory management and scheduling coordination between production, warehouse, and purchasing to maintain efficient material flow.
- Provide direct leadership and mentorship to Department Managers (Production, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, HR), fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Establish and enforce a zero‑incident safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with all environmental and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
- Oversee the plant's talent strategy, including succession planning, technical training programs (Levels 1‑4), and performance management.
- Ensure the plant maintains and adheres to all required global quality management systems, including ISO and mandatory Food Safety certifications (e.g., FSSC 22000, HACCP).
- Serve as the executive contact for major customer technical visits and quality audits, ensuring swift and effective resolution of all critical quality issues (8D reports).
- Maintain full regulatory compliance across all manufacturing, environmental, and safety aspects of the operation.
