Schedule:
1st shift - 7am-3:30pm
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear required PPE while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard‑toe and slip/oil‑resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
- Responsible for adhering to food quality and safety as per the standards provided by corporate, customer, and governing bodies (ex. SQF).
- Determine priorities for cleaning either through directions from a supervisor or by consulting the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Prepare production equipment for cleaning and follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures when doing so.
- Use sanitation chemicals and follow chemical usage labels for application.
- Sanitize, foam, scrub and rinse production equipment ensuring all areas meet Food Safety and Food Quality standards, including but not limited to:
- Validate sanitation effectiveness with visual inspection and chemical concentration testing.
- Utilize motorized floor scrubber.
- Conduct routine inspections of sanitization equipment, processes, and facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Store all chemicals and safety equipment properly.
- Ensure minimum downtime during sanitation and pre‑operational inspections.
- Maintain accurate sanitation documentation and ensure the proper completion of the Master Sanitation Schedule daily.
- Disassemble, foam, rinse, and sanitize production equipment, including:
- Complete line components
- Conveyors
- Cooling tunnels
- Pumps, guards, fillers (as assigned)
- Ensure proper re‑assembly of equipment after sanitation following diagrams, checklists, or supervisor direction.
- Perform structural sanitation, including cleaning:
- Drains and drain covers
- Walls
- Ceilings and overhead structures
- Waste/trash areas
- Lead or support deep cleans and complex teardowns during planned downtime.
- Clean and sanitize external areas, including:
- Loading docks
- CIP/COP exterior surfaces
- External tank areas
- Operate foaming systems, high‑pressure hoses, and chemical application equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow and enforce sanitation sequencing to prevent cross‑contamination.
- Identify sanitation deficiencies and correct them immediately (e.g., buildup, damaged gaskets, hidden soils).
- Communicate progress, issues, and completion status.
- Mentor, guide, and assist Sanitation Tech I employees.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Able to work in a multi‑temperature environment, subject to outside temperatures.
- Ability to perform tasks in accordance with safety protocols to prevent accidents and contamination.
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning machines (e.g., pressure washers, floor scrubbers).
- Ability to identify potential sanitation issues before they become problems.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and other relevant safety regulations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA regulations if applicable).
- Meticulous in performing tasks to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Efficient in managing time to complete cleaning tasks within scheduled times.
- Creative thinking to develop and implement effective cleaning strategies.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and safety guidelines.
- Cooperative attitude and willingness to assist co‑workers.
- Professional demeanor in interactions with colleagues and supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience as a sanitation/janitorial worker in a warehouse environment using mobile cleaning equipment, able to operate mobile cleaning equipment and industrial baler.
- Work Schedule:
Typical 8 hours per day on assigned shift plus overtime as needed which could include weekends. - Work Environment:
