Overview
Refresco is a leading independent beverage solutions provider with worldwide distribution.
Responsibilities- Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
- Ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards, including SQF, FDA, state/city regulations, Refresco quality policies, HACCP, Allergen, Kosher, and other applicable regulations.
- Be trained and certified in the operation of all batching/blending equipment in the area of responsibility.
- Take ownership of ensuring product quality and integrity on the lines based on specifications to meet customer satisfaction.
- Transport required ingredients and pre‑weighs by forklift to and from required areas.
- Verify all ingredients against SAP, food safety, food quality, and inventory control parameters before starting syrup batching.
- Program the bulk ingredient delivery system.
- Follow batching/blending sheets, add the proper ingredients, and record amounts accurately.
- Obtain blend tank samples, send them to the quality laboratory for testing, and implement adjustments as directed by the quality department.
- Complete all required documentation for batching/blending operations and forward for QA/Blending review.
- Maintain sanitation and cleaning of the area throughout the shift.
- Perform CIP/COP sanitation of all batching/blending lines, tanks, and equipment as scheduled.
- Remove empty barrels and bins from the batching/blending area to designated storage or trailers.
- Receive and unload tankers of bulk concentrates as needed.
- Report all non‑compliance, product protection, food safety, and personal safety issues to management when encountered.
- Experience in a high‑speed beverage production environment preferred.
- Formal training in SAP, HACCP, GMP, hygiene, etc. preferred.
- Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs.
- Capability to perform duties in a high‑stress/pressure environment and possess basic mathematical skills for measurements and formulas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Solid comprehension of production schedules and laboratory testing.
- Understanding of quality improvement, efficiency, yield improvement, and elimination of out‑of‑spec or damaged product.
- Attention to detail required.
- Forklift certification obtained or sustained.
- Problem‑solving skills – quickly identify and resolve operational issues.
- Technology – basic computer skills for operating production software and logging data.
- Cognitive – analyze data and process parameters to optimize production.
- Safety and risk management – participate in safety audits and inspections to maintain a safe environment.
- High School Certification.
- 1–2 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Work schedule:
weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, overnight, and holidays may be required; overtime scheduled as needed. - Work environment: fast‑paced production plant with moving parts, required hearing protection, temperature-controlled laboratory and staging areas, structured and supervised.
