Coating Finisher C

Harris is actively looking for a Finisher C (Coating) for our paint shop department for our Waco, TX facility for a direct hire opportunity. We offer great competitive benefits and great place to work in a climate control environment.
Job Description:
- Responsible for performing multiple tasks related to prep, de-paint, and paint processes.
- As a Finisher C you will work in skilled environment with focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Will need to be able to paint and read drawings, interpret drawings and work in Solumina.
- Will meet program schedule within time and budget constraints.
- Will ensure workmanship meets standards and coordinate efforts with other shifts.
- Will certify quality of completed work and will interface with customers and government personnel
The responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using spray gun.
- Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Overall
Summary:
- Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.
- Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.
- Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
- Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Resolves most issues.
- Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.
- Must have 15 years paint knowledge and paint background of aerospace painting.
Preferred Skills (beyond required):
- Must be able to be certified to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Must have knowledge of the tools and equipment necessary to perform paint repairs and modifications
- Strong emphasis in communication skills, both oral and written
- Must have a security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends and overtime as required
