Position:
Die Cutter Operator —
Location:
Waco, TX. Shift: Rotating shifts (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). 12‑hour shifts may be required. Pay Rate: $23.59/hour.
- Set up and operate DC5 and DC6 die cutting equipment, including material loading, web path setup, unwind and festoon systems, tension and draw settings, die station setup, and registration controls.
- Perform pre‑shift equipment inspections; verify machine guards, safety devices, and work areas are ready for operation.
- Review job specifications, work orders, materials, tooling, and quality requirements prior to setup.
- Monitor production and adjust the machine to maintain registration, cut quality, web control, and production efficiency.
- Conduct in‑process quality inspections; identify product defects or process deviations; quarantine suspect product and notify Quality or production leadership as needed.
- Accurately record production output, downtime, waste, quality inspections, and job information.
- Troubleshoot routine machine issues and communicate abnormalities promptly; support maintenance during repairs and changes.
- Safely operate hoists, manipulators, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment when trained and authorized.
- Complete required daily equipment inspections and support efficient changeovers and shift handoffs.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S and housekeeping practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Experience in die cutting, flexible packaging, web handling, or converting operations a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and follow job specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Basic math, measurement, computer, and production documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail; ability to recognize registration, cut quality, material, and process abnormalities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and consistent adherence to PPE and LOTO procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and 12‑hour schedules as business needs require.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of a manufacturing environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
