Job Summary

Work closely with management to plan, steer, and coordinate daily nursing service administration. Create policies and procedures that advance department priorities and ensure patient‑centered care.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Manage and oversee daily business and administrative operations with an emphasis on patient‑centered care.
  • Guide and teach your team and evaluate performance, including training of supervised staff.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and apply Lean methods to enhance practice and patient care.
  • Plan the staffing budget and the equipment & expense budget for the year.
  • Update staff on patients, especially those in critical condition, and report staffing and unexpected events.
  • Build good relationships with department staff, patients’ families, doctors, and external groups to improve communication and patient care quality.
  • Prepare reports, maintain records and files, and manage equipment and inventory. Maintain a database for generating reports when needed.
  • Observe and communicate patient medical changes with nursing staff and doctors effectively.

  • Understanding medical terms, promoting health, and knowledge of common medications, dosages, effects, and side effects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging various constituencies.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Aptitude to guide supervised staff in line with established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to observe and communicate patient medical changes with nursing staff and doctors effectively.
  • Essential computer skills: MS Office, email, security, scheduling, payroll systems, and electronic medical records.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing.
  • At least 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accreditation, or the ability to acquire it within the first 30 days of employment.
