Job Overview
Perform routine registered nursing duties to include assessment, care, and treatment of consumers experiencing behavioral health crises. Work under minimal supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independence judgment.
Responsibilities- Function as a triage/unit RN in a clinical support role as needed.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments and observe patients for unusual symptoms and reactions.
- Conduct physical, developmental, and psychosocial assessments of client health needs and implement appropriate action.
- Obtain lab specimens needed for routine labs (urine toxicology, pregnancy test, glucometer readings).
- Instruct, counsel, and assist clients in meeting their health care needs.
- Monitor consumers for changes in behaviors or medical status.
- Screens crisis telephone calls and makes appropriate referrals.
- Identify community services and make referrals to health care services.
- Assist in evaluating services provided and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews as required.
- Train other staff as required.
- Transport clients as necessary.
- Perform related work as assigned.
- Excellent written communication and computer skills for inputting clinical documentation.
- Excellent verbal communication with clients, staff, and community providers.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to stoop, bend, sit, stand, and keyboard for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified.
- Valid driver’s license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required.
- Current and unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
- One year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- Hours:
7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. - Salary: $36.00 hourly / $89,908 annually with an additional $2.00/night differential and $3.00/weekend differential.

Crisis Treatment Center at the Diversion Center, 6500 Imperial Drive, Waco, TX 76712. - Position
Hours:
3 p.m. – 7 a.m.
