Job Summary
Part time Night Shift 24 hrs/week. 28 bed Acute Care Med Surg with Telemetry – focus on Cardiac/renal and wound care. Sign on Bonus eligible.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care; coordinates care through effective partnerships.
- Provides relationship‑based patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to cultural diversity.
- Partners with patient and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) to keep goals at focus of the care plan.
- Practices using current clinical practice standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care promoting professional care delivery model, including interdisciplinary communication (rounds, case review) and timely documentation.
- Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration that is fiscally responsible and promotes recruitment/retention of all team members.
- Participates and supports performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
- Serves as preceptor/mentor for nurses and other disciplines to ensure a qualified workforce.
- Evidence Based Practice and Research
- Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
- Participates in value analysis and patient safety goals.
- Collects data, poses clinical questions, consults experts, and uses evidence to address practice questions.
- Resources and Support
- Proactively plans care across continuum while providing direct patient care.
- Participates in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best outcomes.
- Supports efficient use of human and material resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies.
Minimum Education
- Associate’s Nursing or Diploma (Registered Nurse)
- Bachelor’s Nursing (preferred)
- RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact)
- BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor
- None additional listed.
- Minimum 5 years RN experience with direct patient care (preferred).
- Read, write and speak English.
- Optimise use of technology to support clinical care and basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully.
- Excellent time‑management and critical thinking skills.
