Overview

This is a Full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.

Texas Oncology is looking for a Full-time Clinical Research Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Waco location. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country with approximately 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. We treat half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer on an annual basis, using leading-edge technology and research to deliver high‑quality, high‑touch, evidence‑based cancer care.

You will provide care for patients receiving cutting‑edge treatments within the oncology clinic, manage the cancer patient throughout their journey, and contribute to clinical trials that make a life‑changing difference in patients’ lives.

• Work closely with physicians to identify and screen potential patients for clinical trial participation.
• Present trial concepts and details to oncology patients while conducting the informed consent process.
• Assess patients for adverse events and/or changes in condition.
• Provide staff and patient education regarding the management and administration of investigational product.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation and data entry to meet trial requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between clinic departments to ensure proper trial conduct.

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of practice.
• Current BLCS or ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• OCN certification strongly preferred.
• CCRC or CCRP certification preferred.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Research experience preferred.
• Outpatient experience preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required, preferably in oncology.

• Minimum seven years of nursing experience required, preferably in oncology.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
