Minimum Starting Salary: $17.00 hourly The City of Waco Seeks
A dedicated, compassionate, and attentive candidate to provide safe and consistent care for animals in the City’s shelter.
Minimum QualificationsPreferred:
- H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
- Some animal care experience
- Valid Texas Driver's License
Under basic supervision, provides care for animals in the City animal shelter.
Position Responsibilities- Cleans and maintains Animal Shelter facilities and grounds daily, including feeding, watering, and grooming animals; monitors animals for illness and disease and provides medications.
- Receives animals brought to the shelter. Performs initial exams and maintains records using the shelter software.
- Provides customer assistance; maintains and updates files and assists with reports and computer entry.
- May be required to respond after hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
