Position Overview
Quality Assurance Superintendent – Oversees the Food Safety and Quality (FSQA) team and programs, ensuring effective implementation of HACCP, SSOP, and food safety systems while managing product specification testing and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Must be willing to work 2nd shift.
Responsibilities- Lead and organize FSQA team activities for HACCP, SSOP, and other food safety procedures.
- Supervise QA staff, manage schedules and timekeeping.
- Promote safety and compliance, coordinate training and report unsafe acts.
- Train plant personnel on quality programs via classroom and hands‑on instruction.
- Collaborate with USDA and site teams, ensuring regulatory compliance and using root‑cause analysis to resolve issues.
- Support audits and customer programs, acting as backup for QA Manager and ensuring plant meets customer specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field; or three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. - Certifications:
GFSI (BRC) training preferred. - Experience:
Supervisory experience required, preferably in poultry processing or slaughter operations; understanding of USDA and OSHA regulations. - Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience a plus; strong communication and leadership skills; computer literacy; analytical abilities; team‑oriented and self‑motivated in a fast‑paced environment. - Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Occasional travel with short overnight stays (1–4 days).
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and varied shifts as needed.
- Positive and collaborative communication to support teamwork.
- Works independently while upholding company values and FSQA standards.
- Comfortable in production environments, navigating equipment safely.
- Proactively addresses safety and food‑safety risks, promoting safe work habits across the facility.

- Base salary range of $95,842.80 ± based on experience.
