The TOPPAN internship program is designed to “test the waters” of working in the manufacturing and packaging industry. You will spend your time working in a specific division on impactful projects, establishing an understanding of TOPPAN’s culture and processes, as well as developing a business mindset.
Throughout the program you can expect to gain a better understanding of your future potential at TOPPAN through valuable project work. The internship is a step toward joining the Emerging Leaders Program or other entry-level positions upon graduation. This is an onsite position based out of our Waco, Texas facility.
Roles and Responsibilities- Attend quality gemba walks to monitor the quality of the product and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Technical Manager, Process Engineer, and Management Team.
- Provide project support for the Global Performance System (GPS) Pillars.
- Attend Production Meetings, Focused Improvement Meetings, and other GPS Meetings as necessary.
- Provide support for Certificates of Analysis and Customer Specifications.
- Scan production jobs for color accuracy via Color Cert.
- Maintain GPS KPIs/Loss charts and report findings to management.
- Utilize Global Vision system to inspect finished products.
- Provide support for defect detection and vision systems.
- Review vision system reports and provide feedback to management.
- Help design, implement, and maintain new quality systems.
- Currently pursuing a college degree, preferably related to Manufacturing or Operations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, adept with data analysis.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
Based on the year of the student’s enrollment:
- Freshman: $15.50 per hour
- Sophomore: $16.25 per hour
- Junior: $18.00 per hour
- Senior: $19.50 per hour
