Retail Sales Associate - Part time

Job Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.

The associate works with jewelry, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop a rapport and recommend financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintains the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
• Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Explains the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, building respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Completes assigned training successfully.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist customers on the exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior locations.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work with people and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Hourly rate: $11.00 to $14.00 per hour. Eligible to earn up to 8% commission on transaction sales, averaging an additional $1.75 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Commission is based on personal performance and gross profit.

All employees must agree to a binding arbitration agreement to resolve disputes.
