Cake Decorator

Position Summary

As a Cake Decorator you will drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service while being flexible to the needs of the business, maintaining in‑stock levels and controlling shrinkage.
• Plan bakery production, ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs, following recipe measurement instructions, working with a variety of products, decorating bags, tips, nozzles to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items; ensuring adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance and inventory management; operating, maintaining and sanitizing equipment and demonstrating understanding of product and layout execution.
• Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience and elevate associate engagement; utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
• Deliver performance of the bakery area, ensuring quality and date control standards, eliminating waste, preparing for seasonal events that impact bakery volume (holidays, graduations, family events); identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions and resolve member issues and concerns.
• Act as a brand advocate by valuing the members experience in bakery and modeling high‑quality service and products; interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training, influencing and inspiring them to work in a respectful, supportive and team‑oriented style.
• Comply with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers and other business partners to identify priorities, deadlines and expectations; carry out tasks, communicate progress and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities and adapt to change.
• Promote respect for the individual by embracing differences in people, cultures, ideas and experiences, creating a workplace where associates feel seen, supported and connected through a culture of belonging; create opportunities for all associates to thrive and perform.

• 6 months experience in fresh production area.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
