The Used Equipment Sales Representative locates, develops, and maintains new prospects and existing customers for the purpose of selling and buying machines and/or attachments.

- Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values‑Based Leadership tools and processes.
- Assist in selling machines and/or attachments from Holt Heavy and Texas First rental fleets.
- Locate used machines/attachments for sales, rentals, and inventory purposes.
- Maintain customer relationships to achieve rental, sales, and service revenue goals.
- Manage the exchange and preparation of sold machines.
- Maintain sold machines’ paperwork and documentation through COTI.
- Purchase machines for inventory and record sales or other business transactions.
- Source and develop new business opportunities and customers.
- Purchase machines for in‑territory salesmen.
- Demonstrate equipment and vehicles to customers.
- Travel to and from customer locations.
- Work safely at all times and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 50+ hours a week, including late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of CAT products and product support services and programs.
- Knowledge of inventory management and processes.
- Knowledge of safe work policies, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge of sales techniques, financial, credit, and accounting principles.
- Effective influencing skills, including motivating and developing customers.
- Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills to build long‑term business relationships.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other computer software.
- Time‑management skills to develop plans and attain maximum productivity.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and customers.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to analyze alternative solutions.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with individuals and groups.
- Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred. Two or more years of work‑related or sales experience required. - Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
- Travel: Up to 30% travel expected.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform all job duties with reasonable accommodations for disabilities; extended stationary work and occasional movement inside office; required manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina; routine visual and auditory reactions; inspection of work visually.
- Work Environment: Professional office environment in climate‑controlled conditions; routine use of office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing cabinets; fast pace with unscheduled interruptions; manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
