Position: Revenue Development Manager (full-time, in-person)

Location: Waco, Texas (requires some evening/weekend hours and regional travel)

Reporting: To the Chief Executive Officer

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience; opportunity for goals-based performance bonus program

The Baylor Line is an independent, nonprofit newsroom focused on chronicling the stories and global impacts of Baylor alumni. We engage our community through an award-winning magazine, digital platforms, newsletters, podcasts, in-person and virtual events, and a signature festival all which connect the Baylor Family with influential academics, thought leaders, and alumni.

Position Overview

Supported by our highly engaged audience, strong key stakeholders, and a small, but energetic team, The Baylor Line is poised for significant growth. This new position will be instrumental in helping build and execute a program focused on growing earned revenue through regional, corporate and civic partnerships, to advance our historic mission and innovate on how we serve our audiences. This role is perfect for a motivated and experienced professional who thrives on innovation, relationship-building, and goal achievement.

The results-driven Revenue Development Manager will serve as the key driver of earned revenue growth by identifying, structuring and delivering mission-aligned sponsor ships and partnerships to complement our content, events and audience needs. The right candidate is a self-starter and ready to work collaboratively across the team to identify, structure and secure corporate sponsor ships, branded campaigns, and serve our clients with excellence so they become long-term partners for The Baylor Line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sponsorship and revenue growth strategies across digital, magazine, and event platforms to meet revenue goals.
  • Design compelling sponsorship packages that align with audience demographics and our organizational mission.
  • Lead sales efforts and manage the end-to-end client experience, including fulfillment, quality control, and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate across departments to streamline sponsor management and fulfillment using data-driven insights.
  • Pilot new revenue initiatives, such as sponsored content or exclusive content offerings.
  • Monitor, maintain, report, and present revenue performance metrics to leadership.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in related field (professional sales, advertising/marketing, communications, etc.)
  • 3+ years of professional experience in sponsorship sales, advertising sales, or business development.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making and campaign performance reporting.
  • Strong alignment with the mission and values of nonprofit news and our mission.
  • Creative problem solver with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in your work.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing sponsorship programs and/or sponsored content initiatives.
  • Experience in event production and monetization tactics.
  • Familiarity with CRM and EMS tools and digital advertising platforms.
  • Proficiency with modern workplace technology (Google Workspace, project management tools, Slack, etc.)
  • A strong eye for design to help create compelling sales collateral.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Waco, Texas, and Baylor University landscape, including key industries, businesses, stakeholders, and nonprofits.
  • While we work with and serve Baylor graduates, being a graduate of Baylor is not required.
