Welding Intern- College

Job Summary:

HOLT CAT is looking for a College Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation.

Essential Functions:

* Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadership

* Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards

* Requires regular and punctual employee attendance

* Perform maintenance

* Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components

* Clean and/or lubricate machines

* Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning

* Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools

* Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components

* Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met

* Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn

* Basic computer skills

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Time management and organizational skills

* Basic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions

Education and Experience:

* Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program

Travel:

* No travel is expected for this position

Physical Requirements:

* This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Work Environment:

* Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
