Responsible for learning the skills necessary to assist with plumbing installation and maintenance, daily quality control activities, following facility housekeeping objectives, ensuring assets are properly maintained and company policies are understood and followed under close and constant supervision.

• Learn trade from lead man and take initiative in performing tasks.
• Serve and support lead man in completing tasks.
• Assist with installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution, and waste water disposal in commercial and industrial buildings.
• Select and insert precut pieces of copper tubing and fittings in holes as directed.
• Connect tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form drain and water lines under close supervision.
• Keep worksite clear and clean from debris and trash.
• Help keep shop and vehicles clean.
• Assist with paperwork involving basic math skills.

High school diploma or equivalent and enrolled in Apprenticeship program.

• Ability to communicate with internal team and customers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.

Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of medium work.

This job operates primarily alone on HVAC and boiler equipment in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
