Please note, this position is not a remote job and requires physical presence at various worksites.
As a Glass Glazier Assistant, you will work closely with experienced Glaziers to learn and master the craft of glass installation and repair, assisting in a variety of projects that enhance both residential properties and commercial establishments. This position is ideal for those eager to develop a practical trade skill while working in a supportive and skill‑enhancing setting.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist the lead Glazier in various glass installation and repair projects.
- Prepare, load, and unload glass and tools from work vehicles to worksites.
- Cut, fit, install, and remove glass in windows, skylights, store fronts, and other structures.
- Use suction cups or cranes to lift large, heavy pieces of glass for installation.
- Apply adhesives, sealants, or caulks to install glass or waterproof seams against weather.
- Clean and remove old glass or frames, preparing areas for installation of new materials.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order for each project.
- Follow safety guidelines to prevent hazards and injuries while on the job site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient work flow and high quality installations.
- Participate in training sessions to upgrade skills and knowledge relevant to the glazing industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong desire to learn a skilled trade and build a career in glazing.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
The pay rate for this position is $16 - $20 per hour, based on experience and performance.
