Low Voltage Network Technician – Waco, Texas

Must be local to Waco, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), cabling standards (Cat5e/6/6a), and low voltage systems (security, access control, structured cabling)
  • Proficiency with cable installation, termination, testing equipment (cable testers, tone generators, multimeters), and proper tool usage
  • Systematic approach to diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues, equipment failures, and system malfunctions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights on ladders/lifts, crawl in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces), and work outdoors in various conditions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications like CompTIA Network+, BICSI Installer 1/2, or manufacturer-specific training preferred
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience installing and maintaining low voltage systems (network cabling, security, access control, AV)
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA-568), network protocols (TCP/IP), and ability to read blueprints
  • Proficiency with testing equipment (cable certifiers, Fluke testers, tone generators) and hand/power tools
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and pass background check/drug screening
