Job Description

Auto Body Technician – Waco, TX

We are looking for an Auto Body Technician with 4-5 years minimum collision auto body repair experience. The Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre-accident condition. The Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle, playing a pivotal role in our promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence.

The Technician works with all team members to achieve repair facility KPIs and is a dedicated Brand Ambassador of the Boyd Group at all times.

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Remove dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when other methods are not feasible.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
• Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
• Weld and attach or fit parts into place; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or an agreed‑upon equivalent.
• Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.

• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to collaborate with other repairers.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Proficiency with trade tools.

• Work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
• Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Pay ranges $80,000 to $120,000+; compensation is commensurate with location, skill, education, and experience. Roles may be eligible for bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
