We are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our team in Waco, TX
. In this role, you will support the installation of underground utility systems for heavy civil construction projects, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure.
- Install underground utility systems, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water mains, and related structures.
- Lay out pipe routes using project drawings, specifications, and guidance from project leadership.
- Measure, cut, and prepare pipe for installation.
- Assemble, install, and repair underground piping, fittings, valves, and related components.
- Position and align pipe to ensure proper grade and elevation.
- Verify pipe alignment and slope using levels, lasers, and other measuring equipment.
- Connect pipe sections using approved installation methods and materials.
- Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and system inspections as required.
- Prepare trench bottoms, grade bedding materials, and assist with back filling activities.
- Operate hand and power tools used in underground utility installation.
- Assist with the installation of pumps, valves, tanks, and other utility system components when required.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced crew members.
- Work collaboratively with Foremen, Superintendents, and other field personnel to support daily project goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience installing underground utility systems in a heavy civil construction environment.
- Experience with ductile iron pipe and mechanical joint pipe installation is strongly preferred.
- Experience on water treatment plant (WTP) and wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) projects is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade information.
- Familiarity with underground utility installation methods, materials, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a field crew.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred; OSHA 30 is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Two or more years of experience as a Pipe Layer or in a similar underground utility construction role preferred.
