Job Description
The Maintenance Technician has the ability to troubleshoot various competencies: advanced pneumatic, basic hydraulic, advanced AC/DC electrical systems, automation (PLC and instrumentation), machining, and mechanical systems on all process and packaging equipment with minimal guidance. The technician works as part of a team to properly maintain and repair equipment in a fast‑paced, high‑production environment while prioritizing multiple mechanical, electrical, and administrative tasks.
ShiftDetails
223 day/night rotation: 2 weeks of 223 days followed by 2 weeks of 223 nights, and so on.
Minimum Qualifications- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling equipment within close tolerances.
- Perform routine electrical and mechanical problem‑solving on process and packaging equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and predictive maintenance (PdM) on process and packaging equipment with minimal guidance.
- Support operations in equipment setup, changeover, and training of operators in autonomous maintenance (AM) activities.
- Document work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (SAP‑PPM Plant Maintenance).
- Effectively communicate with operators, peers, supervisors, and all levels of management on a daily basis.
- Provide enthusiastic support where needed and complete other duties as assigned by the team leader.
- Demonstrate engagement in total productive maintenance (TPM) theory and concepts through participation in pillar teams, training fellow technicians/operators in AM activities, and conducting breakdown analysis (BDAs).
- Understand and adhere to lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) procedures, confined space procedures, and all other plant safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements related to equipment uptime.
- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably in industrial maintenance/technology.
- Successful completion of the Mars Apprenticeship Program or Co‑op.
- Advanced understanding of AC/DC electrical (up to 480 VAC, 3‑phase), hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings for timely problem solving.
- Technical or trade certification in welding, advanced machinist skills, fabrication, and blueprint interpretation.
- Proficiency in PLC/instrumentation troubleshooting.
- All qualifications listed under Minimum Qualifications.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment within close tolerances.

- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance with minimal guidance.
- Assist operations with equipment setup, changeover, and training in autonomous maintenance.

- Communicate effectively with operators, peers, supervisors, and management.
- Provide enthusiastic support for additional duties as assigned by the team leader.
- Engage in TPM, pillar teams, and conduct breakdown analysis.
- Adhere to LOTO, confined space, and GMP safety procedures.
