Job Description Summary
Technician 1 – A key member of the Sunbelt Rentals maintenance team responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment including aerial work platforms, construction tools, generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and related machinery. The role supports a safety‑focused environment and works across multiple locations.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in diesel and heavy construction equipment.
- Use tools of the trade and maintain accurate work logs.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Assist in developing career tracks in service or operations management.
- Support safety and regulatory requirements on job sites.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Trade school or equivalent training preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of technician experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty line equipment strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Proficient with tools of trade.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities.
- Bilingual Spanish or other language may be required based on location.
- Physical capability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors as needed.

Starting rate of pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience. Base pay range: $18.04 – $24.80 per hour.
