The purpose of this position is to perform electrical work to install, repair and modify industrial electrical control systems and to install and maintain a variety of complex instrumentation, automation, telemetry, and electronic controls equipment for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by assisting with the installation of new equipment; troubleshooting instrumentation problems; working on time critical malfunctions and system outages with reservoir intake pumping stations, remote telemetry SCADA systems, water/wastewater plants and pumping stations, and reservoir flood gate automated controls;

periodically inspecting new BRA construction projects and existing electrical services and controls systems; programming software by developing PLC; creating and maintaining human machine interface (HMI) software; preparing scripts to perform complex functions; creating Auto Cad drawings for new electrical systems; modifying and updating programs and interfaces; evaluating work processes to assure safety measures are employed; recommending and performing repairs and maintenance to BRA electrical and controls systems;

and any other duties as assigned.

• A minimum two years or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record
• Preferred:
  Certified Control System Technician; ISA Certification, Journeyman's Electrician License, Water/Wastewater License, and detailed knowledge of the National Electric Code and applicable federal regulations.

• Associates Degree (in related field) - Completed course requirements to receive an Associates Degree

Min: $26.05 to $33.21 hourly salary. This is a non-exempt position.

Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
