Highway Maintenance Technician
We are seeking full‑time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in Waco, Texas during day, mid and night shift. The position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail and drainage, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Required Experience- Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools
- Air compressor operations familiarity
- Construction or roadway maintenance experience
- Guardrail and sign installation experience
- Concrete forming/repair experience
- MOT (traffic control certifications/courses)
- Operator of wheel loader, skidsteer, forklift, asphalt roller, etc.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must pass criminal background check
- Bilingual English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
- CDL license a plus
Roadway maintenance experience.
Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smartphone and applications
- Adjust to changing work schedule
- Work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Operate hand/power tools
Full time; day, mid and night shift available. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
