Highway Maintenance Technician CDL

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician with a CDL to perform maintenance operations in the Waco, Texas area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to roadway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

• CDL:
  Must have a valid CDL
• Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools
• Air compressor operations familiarity
• Heavy equipment experience
• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Construction or roadway maintenance experience
• Guardrail and sign installation experience
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• MOT (traffic control certifications/courses)
• Wheel loader, skidsteer, forklift, asphalt roller, etc. operator

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Bilingual:
  English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Clean driving record is essential. Must pass criminal background check.

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smartphone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Full time; day, mid and night shift available. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
